About Me

Hi! I’m Ken Barnes, a retired software engineer in Fremont California.

I’m creating an energy planning blog emphasizing what matters and how much it matters. From the viewpoint of the typical household, I’m addressing topics ranging from selecting light bulbs to checking the outlook for China’s coal industry.

During the last several years, I’ve become increasingly fascinated with the challenge of using sustainable energy and resources. My software career was formed and molded by college degrees followed by corporations large and small. Now, I want to take more free form and creative approaches to help us all adjust our course to responsibly manage our resources.
